We only had a little over 6 months to pull together this "fantasy fairy forest" wedding, but damn did it come together. We were Eli & Jake's "boots on the ground" as they planned their mountain wedding from their home in Maryland. Their long-awaited celebration was a perfect representation of their sweet & cheeky love for each other. And the intentional inclusion of their daughters throughout the process made it more than just a celebration of their marriage, but of the beautiful family they've built.
Eli & Jake's wedding was a deeply personal and intentional celebration inspired by their shared love of fantasy fiction, complemented by nature-inspired colors, textures, and lighting. In Eli's own words: "The main idea was medieval-fantasy-fairytale, from video games to books, it's those magical worlds where we're most excited together." Eli & Jake also stripped away traditions they didn't connect with, including no first dance, no cake cutting, no dress code, and the bride walking herself down the aisle. What was left was a joyful & sentimental celebration that was perfectly them.
Even their attire was unconventional. Eli wore a flowy beach festival gown with a long ivory cape from a designer she found on Etsy. Jake kept it casual with a shirt & vest instead of a classic jacket and tie.
Eli & Jake were very intentional about including their daughters in every step of the process, honoring the important milestone this celebration was for their family. We'll never forget the "cross promise" they did with their girls during their ceremony before exchanging rings. No dry eyes to be found!
Eli & Jake's love of music was featured throughout the celebration, with live musicians playing 60s & 70s rock and blues during the ceremony and Top Shelf 5280 playing all of the dance floor hits all night long. Eli even incorporated her guitar into some bridal portraits.
The florals and decor transported guests into a woodland fairytale, with dripping wax candles and greenery hanging from the ceiling. Each table featured a "fairy pond" mirrored centerpiece surrounded by moss & ethereal florals.
